Choosing Bar Stools Can Be Tricky

Ever thought how much time can one spend while selecting the right bar stools for the pub or counter. I have heard females entering the markets and losing themselves after seeing the colourful world of clothes, but losing yourself after entering a furniture shop and your eyes scanning so many bar stools in front of you, never heard of it.

Now let me see, I enter the furniture shop thinking it's just going to take me thirty minutes to decide the right bar stool, place my order and rush back to my work. I enter, am taken back and mesmerised with a large collection of bar stools in front of me. Thirty minutes turn into hours of desperate long wait.

When I enter, first thing that strikes my mind is that it's not going to be an easy task. I walk around touching and feeling every material, imagining each colour in my pub. As I walk lost in my thoughts, I am brought back to the world by a voice: 'so sir, what height are you looking for?'

Rewind back... HEIGHT? I am shocked and simply stare:' height, you mean the height of bar stool?' He smiles and shows me the real world of bar stools. That is when I begin to respect the bar stools and realise how careful I am supposed to be while selecting it. I am showed a chart which states the ranges of height. It goes something like this: 35'-37' table 24'-28' stool. 41'-43'table 29'-32' stool and for 44'-47' table 33'-36' stool. I note that down.

I give him a nervous smile and he gets it that am new to this. Did you ever know that there should be at least 26-30 inches between the centers of each bar stool so that people can move around and socialize easily while eating and drinking? Well, I never knew that as I always thought people didn't move around or felt unhappy because it was their choice not because bar stool wasn't right.

Come on how difficult is it to decide what to wear, mean do you want something in silk or woollen etc. I didn't even know so many materials existed in the world of bar stools. Please allow me to break the news ' choice fabric, wood, leather, steel, metal and iron'.

I feel so proud to introduce different styles of bar stools because I could feel my mouth getting dry after listening to the long list when it came to deciding the style. With seats or the one without seats, with or without armrests, swivel or non-swivel, upholstered or non-upholstered, adjustable or stationary? Trust me; I didn't even know what half of it meant. When making your choice of bar stools, make it a point that they are comfortable, decorative and durable! Today bar stools are not used as furniture just to sit on but used as a decorative accessory.

So you see buying bar stools isn't very easy if you aren't focused or your knowledge about bar stools is low but at the same time it definitely is an interesting experience because if it turns out to be the right choice you will be praised about it for years to come. When going to shop for bar stools better is prepared to be surprised like I was!
