When you plan your wedding the idea is to get the big things out of the way and focus on details afterwards. Before even looking at locations and venues, discuss the budget with your future spouse. After the ugly finances are out of the way and you realize that money doesn't grow on trees you start the wedding planning. First thing on the agenda: LOCATION.
First of all, you should only go check out places that come highly recommended by someone you trust and don't just travel far for a place that nobody's heard of. you'd be wasting your time. If you have a list of places that you're interested in checking out, find out from someone about each place and determine if it's worth it for you to check it out. You have lots of wedding planning to do, so don't waste energy on useless things.
Next on planning the knot: occupancy. You need to think of your guest list before looking at a location. Will you be inviting 100 guests or 400? Do you want your wedding to be very small and intimate or do you want to invite everyone you know? these are things to take into consideration. You must look at the location in terms of your guests-if you're inviting only 70 people it would be silly to rent a hall that fits 6 or 7 hundred people.
You need a location that is not too big for the amount of guests you're having and obviously, not too small either. The perfect location is a hard thing to find, especially if your budget is small, but there are so many venues today that it really shouldn't be a problem. I hope your wedding is beautiful and that all the planning goes well.
