Choosing The Right Greenhouse Design

Your home is an extension of you - what you like, what your personality says about you, etc. Your greenhouse can be more enjoyable if you do the same with it. Make it a place you enjoy being in, and your hobby will be that much more enjoyable.

Traditional Glass

Glass greenhouses are great for the more traditionally-minded. They often exude elegance and beauty. There can be elaborate adornments, and can come in many different colors depending on yours style, such as wooden, gray, black, or green. Wrought iron compliments them well too.

Traditional glass greenhouses can be loaded with accessories and surprises in every nook and cranny without losing their charm. These greenhouses can range in size, as can the greenhouse gardener’s budget. If you prefer a greenhouse that makes a statement, traditional glass is the way to go.

PVC and Plastic Greenhouses

PVC and plastic greenhouses are composed of new, man-made materials specially constructed to perform well in the greenhouse. These greenhouses are built for functionality, quality, and endurance. These are the pack-horses of the greenhouse world and are popular choices for all the benefits they offer. These types of greenhouses are well suited for everyone, and can be easily personalized to fit your budget and your personality by selecting frame and shade cloth colors, and accessories.

Lean-to Style Greenhouses

What are lean-to greenhouses? These are added to an existing structure, most often a home. They can have any type of siding that you wish, oftentimes matching the home or structure it is attached to; stone, cedar, vinyl, etc. They lend a contemporary feel, and generally will actually raise the value of the property.

Lean to greenhouses are generally sparsely accessorized, and water hoses and the like are generally well concealed. Asian themes and Zen-like gardens are very popular with this style.

Portable-Style Greenhouses

Portable greenhouses speak of convenience and functionality. These are the workhorses of the greenhouse family, and while they can be visually attractive, the focus is most often placed on the crops growing inside than on the greenhouse itself.

In closing, choosing the perfect greenhouse is up to you, the owner. What are your tastes? What's your style? Set your budget, and then go wild - with the right greenhouse for YOU!
