Cityville: The Popular Facebook Game

Zynga, the popular creator of online social games that came up with Farmville and Frontierville, has now released another social community game called CityVille. If you know about "The Sims," you probably know that CityVille is to a great extent inspired by this popular simulation game. It is an application developed for the most popular social networking site, Facebook, which has millions of users.

It was officially launched in December and reaped more than 100,000 players during the launch, making it the biggest launch ever. As of this day, it has gathered over 89 million users with 19 million daily active users and has beaten the popular FarmVille which was also developed by Zynga. Imagine the community of players growing by the day; this game is a massive hit. It is also Zynga's very first 3D game introduced on the social network which makes the game look good and the gaming experience more exciting.

Just like with other Zynga games, it presents a social twist as it has to be played along with friends. You need to build a community by adding neighbors or friends and start to expand your city as quickly as possible. Your friends can also build businesses in your city or in any other cities, thus contributing to the growth of your city. With this game, you can become mayor of a virtual city and just like what any mayor would do, you have to develop your city into a large metropolis.

The development of your virtual city involves tasks such as construction, farming and also rent collection using energy points. Just like in other games, you need to increase your level of experience as the amount of your energy level is dependent on it. At a constant rate, the energy levels are replenished automatically. You can go and visit your neighbor's city and complete up to 5 jobs every day and this will earn you reputation points. This gets you a free goods bonus every time you reach reputation level ups and it increases your energy level, coins, and XP.

You can also send other players some gifts or help them achieve some goals. The task is to complete the goals set, earn CityCoins and be able to purchase current items available. You can also get into trading, buying and selling goods. This game allows you to reach up to 80 experience levels.

I know many people who got hooked on the phenomenal social game Farmville, but CityVille has proved to be a greater ride as it has unbelievably brought in more players and even more people are getting hooked on it.
