Cleansing Tips To Combat Acne
~Sloughing is a process in which dead skin cells are separated from living skin cells. The reason to slough the skin is to properly remove dead cells that easily trap bacteria under the skin's surface which in turn creates acne. Sloughing with an abrasive instrument is not recommended. A face and body loofah will do the job correctly without causing further harm to already irritated skin. ~An astringent, which is a chemical used to remove oil from the skin's surface as well as shrink skin cells, is an excellent tool in the combat against acne. A common mistake, however, is that using astringent alone will clear up blemishes. While it is a helpful tool, it will only remove the top layer of oil and dirt from the skin. A proper deep cleansing is needed prior to using an astringent to ensure that dirty pores aren't shrunk using this chemical, thus creating additional blemishes. ~Cleansing your acne-prone areas is a great way to combat the problem as long as some key factors are kept in mind. Cleansing the affected area too often can sometimes cause extra oil to surface the skin which may aggravate the problem. Additionally, be sure to cleanse the affected areas with a gentle cleanser so as to not irritate the skin. And most importantly, wash the entire affected area. For example, if your face is affected be sure to wash your entire face. Only washing your T-Zone is a common misconception and may further aggravate your acne problem.
