When you have determined if you baby has colic, you will want to be able to find some colic relief for your baby. There is no straightforward medical cure for what causes colic, and so you have to take care of the symptoms , which turns out to be so successful that you may speculate if your baby ever had a problem at all.
The main symptoms are fussiness and crying (sometimes it seems endless), so you have to work out how to stop the crying baby. To bring to an end the crying we have to recognize what caused it, and this has been proven to be that baby wants to go to sleep, but for some reason cannot do so. In short baby cannot get calm enough to go to sleep.
You can see this yourself by taking note of how baby gives off all the signals of being sleepy before going into an uninhibited howling fit. The process of colicky behavior can take quite a few minutes, during this time you may observe the signs of tiredness and this will soon be followed by the crying
The quicker you catch these signs, then the easier it is to get baby to calm down and go to sleep. Sometimes it is only a matter of finding a dark room and laying baby down (if you are very lucky), other times you have to use advanced baby calming techniques.
At this point I will provide away this tip. Just holding your baby and carrying baby around is most likely the simplest way for baby to feel calm. This is a very natural state for little one to be in, and the most familiar feeling that baby can have. The blend of the safety of a parent and the motion similar to being in the womb will often put baby to sleep.
