Commercial Flights Don't Give Many Options

When traveling, you have many choices. You can choose what hotel you stay in. Whether or not you are going to stay in a fancy hotel or something that is a little more economical, maybe one that caters to families with children. You can choose your destination, where you are going to spend that all important week once a year when you don't have to worry about work.

Are you going to visit a theme park and ride some rollercoaster's or are you going to relax on some beautiful white sand Caribbean beach? You have many choices to make. You even get to choose what kind of rental car that you are going to drive when you finally arrive at your destination. The one thing that doesn't feel like much of a choice is the plane that you are going to fly on to get there.

Generally all of the commercial airlines really feel the same and offer nearly duplicate experiences when you are in the air. That is to say they all feel like a hassle waiting to happen, you get herded through a terminal, wait in long lines and then shoe horned into the plane with hardly any room to move. You don't get to pick where you are going to sit or whom you will be sitting with for the most part. You're blessed if you even get a drink to quench your thirst during the flight, let alone a meal for the trip.

In fact, I don't know why the airlines even bother with the bad in flight meals on longer flights anymore; they should really just let the passengers take their own food and drinks on board. If they had a McDonalds at the gate in every airport, or perhaps another fast food chain, people would be more than happy to buy and take along their own food. Then that would eliminate the need for the airline to force the bad service and food that they offer on the paying customers.

This might even reduce the price of the ticket. One place that you don't have to worry about any of these issues is when you charter a flight on a private jet. The service is second to none and you are taken care of exactly how a paying customer should be treated, like a respected client, that is the reason the charter company is running their business. Commercial airlines have gotten away from this customer oriented service; it is almost as if the airlines have become bothered by their patrons.
