Communion Invitations – Keeping Track Of The Guest List

A child’s first communion is an exciting milestone, not only in childhood in general, but also in the progression down a religious path. To celebrate the day when the child is able to take part in this important component of Sunday mass in the Catholic Church, many will choose to have a party afterwards. Should you decide to plan this in advance, you’ll need to start thinking about the guest list for this party, and invite the people who you feel would be most interested in being there to support your child’s day. That will usually include a mix of family members, church members, and friends.

If you are new to the church, then this could be a good way to get to know your fellow parishioners, by sending them communion invitations and hosting a religious-themed party. Be sure to ask your priest if there are any traditions that are specific to this church. Some, for example, require that the child wear all white at this time, while others may have some words that must be said. It’s better to obey etiquette at a new place, to help the day run smoothly and make sure that this is a positive memory for your little one.

When you make the initial guest list, be sure to double check all addresses and the contact information that is included on the invitations. When you place your initial order for communion invitations, it’s recommended to order a few extras. That way, if you mess up someone’s address, or remember that you wanted to invite someone who wasn’t on your initial list, you will be able to do so without having to place a new, potentially expensive separate order. Keep track of who you send the invites out to, and then have a tracking system in place to save the RSVP’s as they come in.

These few steps of planning ahead of time with the initial communion invitations will help your event run far more smoothly on the big day. This is a good way to stay on top of your party planning agenda, and get to know various members of the community. If anyone chooses to bring food, beverages, or gifts to the party, you will also need to remember to send thank you notes to those partygoers. As a general rule, some hosts choose to send thank you notes to everyone who attended, as a nice gesture.
