Comparing Stair Stepping Machines To Other Machines

Stair steppers, treadmills, elliptical machines. You have probably seen them all, and there is a chance that you have used them all. What makes each one more beneficial than the previous? Which burns more calories? Gives you better results? Burns faster? Those are all important questions that you can ask yourself before getting on any exercise machine.
A stair stepper mimics climbing. For example, how exhausted would you be after climbing 100 flights of stairs? How exhausted would you be walking a half mile or a mile? How exhausted would you be after doing something low impact? A stair stepper will exhaust your muscles, even if you are a very fit person. Your muscles will be forced to work in the right way to get yourself going, and you will probably burn significantly more calories.
Treadmills are one type of exercise equipment that simulates walking, but you walk on a belt that is constantly rotating. When comparing a stair stepping machine, a treadmill is less effective. Even though you can walk or jog, and choose the speeds, stair steppers offer a real challenge for the user.
Elliptical machines are a favorite, especially for those with joint problems. If you compare a stair stepping machine to an elliptical you will see that it takes less time to burn the same amount of calories. You get a high impact cardiovascular workout, and its challenging. Some people get stuck in a rut, and a stair stepping machine can break you free of that, where an elliptical cannot.
The other machines available all take time, and time is something that most of us are short on each day. A stair stepper will combine different elements of cardio workouts and make you burn more in less time. 20 minutes on one machine will end up burning 3 times less than what 10 minutes on a stair stepper machine would burn.
Stair steppers are also unique, because they are the only machine that can mimic stair climbing. Have you ever climbed up a very tall building? Maybe not, because with elevators everyone uses stairs less and less. Stair stepping machines actually extend your life by a few seconds per stair. Imagine if you climbed 200 flights of stairs per day.
