Complete House Moving Simplified

Sometimes, beautiful houses come up for sale at ridiculously low prices. But, they're in the middle of nowhere. Now this may put off most people, but thanks to the process of house moving, you can deposit your home wherever you want (in an empty plot of course).

So how does it work? Well, first you have to ensure that the house is movable. The structural integrity of the property has to be inspected. Also, the local department of transportation will have to approve the route the house will have to take to get to its destination. The bank which holds the mortgage to the house will have to be notified and they have to approve of the process.

A professional house mover can help with all the hurdles. House moving is usually conducted by experienced personnel, who possess the right equipment and knowledge to pull off such a job. It is required to specify the width, length and breadth of the house, and also the way it was built. Also, it is necessary to provide the movers with the blueprints for the house.
The major factor influencing the cost of the move is the route that the house will have to take. Easy routes which are more or less straight, even and obstacle-free will cost much less than a route littered with trees, poles, mailboxes, etc., and which has bends and is uneven. Large homes will run into utility wires, which the utility companies will lift for you, but at a hefty price.

Larger homes can be cut into pieces if they are structurally sound, but, again, this will raise the price. Due to these reasons, the cheapest and simplest houses to move are those which are small and have a short route to follow. The cost of moving starts at about $12 to $16 but can increase substantially with added weight, size or distance to be moved.
The cost of moving a large home is estimated at $150,000 to $200,000. Also to be considered are these costs:
1) The cost of the home unless it is already owned.
2) The cost of the land where the home is to be placed
3) The cost of constructing a new foundation.
4) Permit and inspection costs
5) The fees of plumbers and electricians to disconnect and reconnect utilities.

Renovation costs. House moving, though an expensive job, is environmentally friendly as the house is not demolished. So, if the price is no barrier, it would be recommended as it also saves the builder the price of demolishing it.
