Concealed Carry With A Taurus Millennium Pro

Introduced to the market by Taurus Manufacturing in 2005, the Millennium Pro model was intended to be an upgrade over the standard Taurus Millennium series. Like the Millennium series, the Pro series was specifically designed to target the civilian concealed carry, self defense, and law enforcement markets.

Taurus Millennium series side arms are produced with injection molded polymer frames, with slides are available in blued carbon steel, stainless steel, or a titanium version.The blued model is the most popular out of those three. The Mill Pro series is available in the following cartridges: .32 ACP, .380, 9mm, .40 S&W, and .45 ACP. Depending on the model and caliber, magazine capacities vary between 6, 10, and 12 rounds. The Millennium line includes several innovative safety features including a positive firing pin block as well as the "Taurus Safety Latch", a transfer bar safety which prevents firing of the pistol unless the trigger is pulled. Together these safeties assure that the pistol will not fire if it is accidentally dropped; selected models have been certified as satisfying the California Drop safety requirement. All Millennium models also include a slide-mounted safety lever.

The Millennium Pro series is similar to the standard PT series, but is also significantly different. These differences include an higher magazine capacity, reduced trigger travel with a smoother and lighter trigger pull, an lighter frame, and an improved more ergonomic grip design. Some other important differences include the upgraded Heine sights and an integrated accessory rail.

From a holster perspective, nearly all the PT Millennium Pro series are built on the same frame (PT-111 Mill Pro, PT-140 Mill Pro, PT-145 Mill Pro). As such, most any pistol holster for any of these models will fit any of the other models. For example, a holster for the PT-111 Mill Pro will usually also fit a PT-140 or PT-145 Mill Pro

It's important to point out that there are substantial design differences between the Mill Pro series and the standard Millennium series that will impact holster fit. As the Pro series had an picatinny rail and the standard Millennium series doesn't, the holsters are not interchangeable between the two. A holster for a Mill Pro series will most likely fit a standard series, but not vice-versa.

Over all, the Millennium Pro family is an first-class choice for concealed carry or self defense. As mentioned above, it offers a number of features that are typically found on more expensive pistols.
