Confidence - There Aretwo Types. One Good, One Bad. Which One Do You Want?
Quiet confidence. Do you have it? Or do people just want to throttle you?
We all want to be confident, that is for sure. However, don’t you just hate to hear a loud-mouthed show off going on about what they can do and what they have? Usually you can hear them a mile away at a party, on a train, at your work. You find these over confident people everywhere and if you are anything like me, you cannot wait to get as far away from them as possible. They are a total turn off. Right?
Sure, we all want to be confident but the best type of confidence to cultivate is a quiet confidence. Quiet confidence means that you do not try to be a people pleaser. Although you care about what people think, you do not become weighed down with the fear of rejection or that someone may leave you.
Being quietly confident means taking full responsibility for any mistakes that you make and being big enough to apologise.
You can enjoy sharing your achievements without showing off. You do not need eternal praise from others as you have nurtured a self-reliance, which sees you through your life.
Quiet confidence means rather than beating yourself up you can forgive yourself when you fall back into your old pattern of negative thinking and behaving. By forgiving yourself, in this way, this also allows you to be more compassionate and understanding to the needs and shortcomings of others.
Quiet confidence means that you do not accept abuse of any sort from own negative self talk or from anyone else, for that matter. You also show respect for others and consider their feelings.
A quiet confidence means that you know what you want in life and are able to follow through on goals that you set for your self. You are aware that you can only change yourself and not the people around you.
Being quietly confident means that you spend time looking after yourself without feeling guilty. You know that you are worth this care and effort. You also know that you must be able to be good to yourself first before you can be good to others around you.
An added bonus to developing quiet confidence is that you will attract more people to you rather than them trying to avoid you.
