Here is an example www.dogs.and.cats.myfirstdomain.com. You see how you just added the words “dogs and cats” to the domain name. You can usually have as many sub domain as you would like. This is great if you are planning have a bunch of different material on your site that is not related. You don't have to keep buying domains and and paying for them.
