Mattresses are such an important part of a person's life. Why exactly are they so important? Due to the fact that if you live to be 100 years and you sleep around 8 hours a night, then you will spend around 33 years of your life in your bed! Doesn't that sound pretty amazing? It really is shocking, considering the fact that most people don't even work 33 years at one job. Think about what you can do with 33 years of your life! There is so much that you can do. This fact and reality raises a few questions. Why don't a lot of people invest more in their mattress? How come some people are not as informed about their mattress as they are about other big ticket purchases, such as a car or a home?

Most people know quite a bit about their home, how much it's worth, what is the future value most likely going to be, and do I want to be here for a long time. Also, most people do research before deciding which car that they want to drive, for the next 6 years or so. If you take lots of time before deciding what to drive for 6 years, why don't most people know their mattress as well, which is something they will and need to use much more? The answer is not simple, for a number of reasons. Some people say that its "just a bed' or "just a mattress", they are all the same. Also, there is less knowledge out there concerning mattresses. Of course, you can go on the internet to learn more about it, but compared to the amount of information that is providing on-line about cars, there is precious little knowledge concerning mattresses. Despite these facts though, it is very important to every person to be able to decide on a good bed and be knowledgeable about what they are sleeping on. Do I need a firm or a softer bed? What size bed do I need? These are just a couple of the questions that need to be answered while deciding what kind of mattress that a person should sleep on.
