Learning copy-writing basics that helps you convert your customers to subscribers or buyers Is essential. It doesn't matter what you do in life be it personal or professional, we are all using copy either consciously or sub-consciously to get our way.

However putting it into a conscious thought process, and actually putting it down in way the leads prospects or customers to take certain actions is quite another matter. Yesterday I had spoke of the fact that this is a learned behavior and something every internet business owner needs to know, so he or she can get the full benefits from their efforts.

You hear all the time of breakthrough copy writing methods and so on. The reality is that copy writing hasn't really changed all that much in over 100 years and there are basic structures to writing that every copy writer needs to follow to their copy come to life and do good to the prospect and product or service you are promoting.

Gone, I believe are the days of people falling for straight hype in copy. I believe the average consumer has moved past that and become a far more educated buyer. Lets hit on some the basics you need to know.

•Your Headline! this is going to the most important piece of your copy. This will determine whether your prospect is going click or say no.

•The body of your copy should be exciting enough to maintain attention and give your prospect some juicy pieces to keep them interested in what you have to say about your product or service.

•Bullet points, are necessary for hitting directly on the points that you believe your prospect will be most interested in and how they will ultimately benefit.

•Testimonials from those who have purchased in the past explaining how they benefited.

•Then you have to give them a clear call to action. Whether you are asking them to sign up for your newsletter or whether your asking them to buy you have to be clear and explain what you wan them next.

One aspect of writing copy today that surely differs from copy of yesteryear is you need to writing for the search engines. Your choices of key words is critical for placing well in the search results. Keyword selection is very important however that is for another post. Hopefully this article has at the very least given an idea as to how to structure you copy for its best result.
