Cost Cutting Article
Whilst cheap air travel has enabled us to make more of our money (in terms of pennies to miles) than ever before, recent events have led to suggestions that the boom may be over. Whilst aviation is as popular as ever before, rising fuel prices and pressure from environmental sectors has seen airlines forced to pay higher taxes than ever before. Of course, no one wants to put their prices up as the market is incredibly competitive, so we pay in other ways. Airport parking is one such example of an addition element of air travel that is becoming very expensive. If you're going to drive to the airport make sure you book a spot early, it could save you an astonishing amount of money. Another cost is airlines being tighter on luggage allowances. For a start where luggage used to be included in the price of the ticket, it no longer is, and if you exceed the allowance then you have to pay sometimes very large amounts of money. Make sure that you know how much your baggage weighs before you go and if you're over the limit, either remove some objects, of reallocate the weight so that you carry and small, heavy, non liquid items in your hand luggage. Another obvious tip is to book as early as possible. Many airlines operate a tiered system for their tickets, so that the first 10% (for example) cost a certain amount, then the following 10% cost a little more and so on. The earlier you book, the cheaper your ticket will be. Another expense, albeit one that is not really the fault of the airlines, is the cost of getting to the airport itself. Whilst with driving you have to deal with petrol and parking charges, even if you take the coach or the train it can be quite expensive. One way to make a saving here is to take the EasyBus rather than a more traditional service. EasyBus tickets start at as little as ?2, although that's only for the first few tickets on each ride. There are also a limited number of places, although the service is regular. It has the distinct advantage of having someone else worry about getting you to the airport, and also that you are taken right up to the front door, so you don't need to walk miles with your luggage. A final advantage is that you don't have to be an EasyJet customer to take the EasyBus. Regardless of where you're travelling, and with whom, it's always important to save as much money as possible, and the EasyBus may help you do that.
