Cost Of Living California

There are many different factors that determine cost of living. No matter what state you live in it boils down to two factors: How much things cost and how much money you need to be able to afford these things. You have to look at the median housing wage and compare it to the average wages made in your specific trade. Each state’s cost of living is different. California is one of the most expensive places to live in the U.S.

The average single family home goes for $835,000. This naturally makes Californian’s mostly renters or Oregonians. Research I have done indicates that median housing income (the hourly wage a person must earn working 40 hours a week, 52 weeks a year to be able to afford housing) is around $23.00 per hour while the average income is around $14.00 per hour. It’s pretty clear that homemakers are rare in California and roommates are required if you are single. Apartment rent ranges anywhere from $1100 to $3250 per month. Anaheim is the least expensive at a little over $1200 per month, while Santa Monica is the most expensive at $3200.00 per month.


Other of living statistics for California:$29.38 garbage $23.50 water $25.10 sewer. These are the average monthly bills California's pay for their utilities. Gas prices are currently down averaging $3.69 per gallon. Average wages per trade: Administrative assistant-$15.00 per hr, registered nurse $32.00 per hr, customer service representive-$13.25 per hr, execute assistant $20.00 per hr.
