Costa Mesa Personal Trainer Reveals 5 Ways To Lose Weight Fast
When you think about weight loss, what comes to mind?
Diets, Weight Loss Programs, Workouts, Pills, Surgery?
What emotions come to mind?
Frustration? Confusion? Do you shy away from the topic?
Being a personal trainer for 12 years, Ive seen a lot of people in health clubs. Some joining at the New Year, then fading away. Other people are sorta consistent, but never really change their body much. A few show up every once in awhile, usually before a trip or some big event.
It seems like everyone talks about weight loss and losing weight, especially in Irvine, CA, smack dab in the middle of Orange County! So, why are most people overweight? Why is everyone struggling with this so much?
Why Are 80% of Americans Overweight?
I think most people mean well and they want to live better lives..I really do. They want to take care of their families, play, excel at work, travel, save money and be healthier, but usually life gets in the way.
People come into the gym and sit down with me all the time, looking to get healthier, lose weight and feel better about themselves. Here are my 5 tips or steps that I walk each client thru.
1. Why do you want to lose weight? What is the deep emotional reason why today is the day that you are gonna make a change? If you don't know, then think about it, write it down and dwell on it. Is it a wedding, class reunion, trip, confidence, your kids, your wife/husband?
If you don't know why you want to change, then you will usually fade away and get distracted.
2. Nutrition is a vital part of losing weight. 90% of Americans food budget is spent on processed foods. 90%!!! Don't overthink this part or get caught up in some fad diet or system. If it occurs in nature, eat it. The more man touches it, run! That's it!

3. Movement. Our lives are spent in bed, on the couch, in the car and at your desk. Get off your a#@ and move! You don't need a gym membership, just go for a walk, a swim, ride your bike, play a sport, play with your kids, whatever.
Stop watching other people live a life on TV and go live your own!
4. Recovery. If you haven't moved around for awhile, start slow. Then afterwards, learn to rest and allow your body to recover and heal. Most people are over stressed anyway, so take some time for yourself. Get a massage, meditate, listen to relaxation cds, get a good nights sleep, breathe deeply, etc.
Ever seen someone freak out in traffic..people need to chill out!
5. Guidance. If you want long term success, you need some support. Someone, or a team of people, that will help you thru the process. Weight loss isn't always easy, so you need people that will hold you accountable. Maybe it's a personal trainer, maybe a spouse, maybe a friend, but whoever it is needs to be supportive and know about your goals.
