Creating An Image For Your Business Takes More Than Good Advertising

Business advertising is an important part of every business. Even if you choose the very best promotional products for your business and advertise in the very best magazines these still won't guarantee you are putting your best business foot forward. Advertising is all about bringing people in to see, experience, or shop with you. When they walk through the door, however, they still need to be impressed with what you are offering so that they will become lifetime customers and not just those who make a one time purchase. Otherwise you will have to continue to bring individual customers through your door each and every week and if you are in a smaller community you could very easily run out of people in your town. You need to build a relationship with each and every customer that enters your store.

Advertising dollars will bring customers to your store but the atmosphere that is created in the store is what will keep them coming back. Friendly, knowledgeable staff, good customer service and quality products are necessary in order for advertising to be effective. No matter how much you spend on advertising dollars, unhappy customers will not be returning if they had a bad shopping experience.

The premise that getting customers is the hardest part of a business plan is ill conceived. It's maintaining the client base, keeping them happy and let them be a proponent of drawing in new customers by boasting how pleased they are with the products and customer service they are getting when patronizing your company. Unhappy customers are more likely to tell anyone who is willing to listen that your company isn't living up to its declarations.

Many companies hire secret shoppers to give them additional insight on the actually operations of their stores. They often bring back useful information regarding friendliness of the staff, cleanliness of the store and the overall shopping experience they encountered. The most important aspect to concentrate on is the customers' perception of your store, its products and the sales staff. You want your customers walking away with an attitude of, "I'm definitely coming back to this store" or the anticipation of telling their friends to shop there. These attitudes are more important than spending a fortune in advertising.

Keep in mind that while advertising is important, you must also make sure that you are offering those customers who come into your store the best overall experience. Doing so will help you to make the most of your business advertising and will help you not only bring customers through the door but will help you maintain those customers forever. Growing a business means more than just good advertising; it also means providing a good experience for those customers who do follow the advertising to your door.
