Creative Fundraising Activities
2) School fundraisers – School fundraising is part of most parent’s lives. At one point or another your child will come home with a school fundraising event or you’ll be in charge of running one. Some traditional ideas include car washes, raffles and printing and selling cookbooks. Other products have emerged in the past couple of years that are creative and useful. Products such as pre-paid phone cards and store discount cards. These cards can be purchased at different value levels and customized with school logos and photos. They’re useful products that have up to a 40% profit margin. And the best part about them is that the products are small in size so our kids and we the parents won’t break our backs carrying the products form door to door when we’re out trying to sell them. 3) Charity fundraisers – Like school fundraisers, people have come up with some unique charity fundraising events. Some charities will hold annual events where they wine and dine their guests while holding silent and live auctions. It’s also helpful if you plan these types of events towards the end of the year and remind guests of the tax benefits. Other charities have utilized the actual building of their non-profit shelters as a fund raiser. They give people the opportunity to sponsor the build out with title sponsorship of the building, a room, a hall or even down to sponsoring a brick. It’s a great way to raise money and give the community a feeling of ownership in the cause, plus it can make for a great media story. Depending on your cause organizing a walk or run is another great way to raise funds and get the community and local media involved. So whether you’re helping your kids raise money for school or fighting to raise awareness for your favorite cause there are many resources out there to help you. Companies are creating special products that can be customized to promote any cause. Golf courses are opening their doors to host events and construction companies are thinking out of the box and allowing the purchase and creation of a building customized brick by brick. There are even companies that you can hire that will create and activate fundraising events on your behalf with including all staffing needs. So next time you’re in that brainstorming meeting think of these ideas and keep in mind the win-win benefits for each partner and it’s sure to be a success.
