Diy Dvd / Cd Dumbbells In 10 Minutes Or Less!

Nowadays we turn to a more and more wireless and effortless lifestyle. Even a few years back we were buying music on CDs, sometimes we still buy movies on DVDs. Fortunately, these times are almost over - today we can stack all our music and movies on our mp3 players, Zens, iPods, iPhones etc. This lets us save some space and get rid of those piles of CDs and DVDs. To put them into good use, for this weekend project we suggest making CD/DVD Dumbbells - that will not only turn your disks useful, but also create the manly man muscles you have always dreamed about!

To start off, you will need: a 1/2'' threaded rod, four 1/2'' washers and bolts, 150 CDs od DVDs, a reciprocating saw, a tape measure, some duct tape, a 1/2'' wrench and a table vise. 150 CDs will let us create a about 10-pound dumbbell. to begin with, measure 6 inches on the rod, add some more for your hand from that poind (measure your fist and add about 2 inches), and then add another 6 for the other set of disks. Mark this spot and cut the rod here. Afterwards, apply some duct tape to create the handle. Afterwards, add two washers from both sides for the inner side of the weigh. Put 75 CDs/DVDs on each side, and finish it all up adding washers.

This way, you got yourself a fine dumbbell. If you still keep a collection of vinyl disks.. Why not making a barbell next time? Have fun!
