The Baghe Babar was erected by the first Mughal emperor who came to this region. This garden was built by the emperor as his resting place but later upon his death his tomb was also built there. The emperor whose reign extended across the sub-continent is not only the heritage of Kabul but of the entire region until the other side of the Indian sub-continent. The garden was also the pilgrimage site for other Mughal successors. There has also been also a mention of Baghe Babar by Babar in his epic memoirs, known as the Babarnama. The garden also has a huge white marble mosque built by Babar’s grandson, another great emperor of the Mughal dynasty.
