One of my personal heroes, Milton Erickson had a very unique and useful style of helping his patients and clients ( he actually learned a lot from first helping himself! ) He was known for many things yet most of all for telling stories and for giving his patients and clients homework to do. Early on, it took him very little time to run before he felt winded and had to slow down and focus on his breathing and relax his body--all the while mentally practicing what he would say the very next time he saw a woman he wanted to meet and date. I almost forgot to share the best part of all--he felt much more confident in his conversational skills and less embarrassed or held back by his weight. Had he failed in talking to many women, he would still have lost the weight which would have eased his approach anxiety. Consider what "ordeal" you can give to yourself if you fail to talk to that attractive person you meet or hesitate to share your great idea with the Boss at your next Business meeting.
