Dealing With Acne Is Not Fun

Dealing with acne problems is just part of being a teenager. Knowing that we are not alone in our acne issues can help dealing them easier when we are teenagers, no matter how embarrassed we are by our "pizza faces". Adults are not supposed to face the same severe acne that teenagers deal with. This is why so many of us are so embarrassed by the occasional breakout or zit. Even though our breakouts are not as severe, waking up to one can make us feel like immature kids who have to go to school looking weird. What makes adult breakouts worse is how painful they can be. It does not matter what your age is, the tips in this article should help you out.

Wash your face gently. Don't scrub! When you wash your face too vigorously, you can leave it raw and vulnerable. Scrubbing might feel good initially but it actually does quite a lot of harm to the very sensitive skin on your face! Do you really want to have a face full of scars from scrubbing? It is important that you learn how to wash your face gently but firmly. This sounds harder than it actually is. You do not want your face to be bright red after you wash it. Bright red is not okay, but you do want to have a little bit of a flushed look. You want to have a healthy glow but stop short of looking like a red light bulb. Try wearing less makeup or choosing a brand that makes cosmetics out of lighter materials. Buy makeup that has sunscreen in it instead of buying separate products and putting more clogging materials into your pores. Consider choosing makeup that has had vitamins and nutrients added to it so that you are helping your skin when you put it on each morning instead of potentially damaging it. Do not run for the cheapest makeup available. Try not to smear on more makeup than you really need. You want to wear as little makeup as possible. Don't freak out, you'll still be beautiful if you cut back on the makeup that you slather on! It is incredibly important for the health of your skin that you go to bed with a clean (and makeup free) face. Leaving your makeup on while you sleep is one of the best ways to give yourself acne.

You might already have the perfect remedy in your kitchen or bathroom. Have you ever tried using toothpaste on a zit before? Start by putting some toothpaste directly on to the zit after it has finished forming. When you wake up, you will see that the pimple or zit has gotten a lot smaller (do not try this if you have pets who roam free at night because tasting the toothpaste could make them very sick). Some people insist that egg whites can also heal acne. Egg whites can be used both as facial masks and as spot treatments for zits.

There are plenty of ways to keep your skin healthy and acne free. You might be able to get by with only washing your face a couple of times each day. Someone else might need a more invasive facial cleanser. Other people choose to keep acne away with healthy foods, natural products and regular exercising. Learning the best acne fighting methods for your skin might take some time. Be patient and give something time to work.

No acne fighting method will work overnight--you need to give each method you try at least a few weeks to start having an effect on your skin before moving on to the next solution.
