Decorating Children’s Apartment Bedrooms

A child's bedroom is an area of your apartment where you can really relax and have fun. In the early years you are likely to spend a lot of time there yourself, so work to make that room comfortable for you too.

Plan for growth
The most important thing to remember when decorating a child's bedroom is to plan ahead. Before you know it, your cute baby will be a toddler and not so long after that he or she will be in school and have ideas and wishes of their own.
You need to get the basics right from the beginning such as closets and lighting. If you are planning a long term kid’s room, remember storage requirements seem to grow as fast as kids.
Design your children's room for fun and practicality by keeping the decorations simple and easy to look after. Kids can be hard on rooms, so use wall paints that are washable and durable. You could include a scribble-on blackboard in order to spare the paintwork!

Use well-known characters
The Winnie the Pooh Nursery is a childhood classic and easy to decorate. A painted wall border or simply use the character's accessories placed around the room.
The Fairytale Princess rooms are lots of fun for girls and their friends. With a couple of yards of inexpensive voile and you can easy create a princess bed. All kids love covered places where they can hideout.

Rooms for the older children
The rooms for older children should reflect their interest, so get them to pick the theme for their bedrooms and let them help you put the room together. If your children are sharing a room, it is advisable to paint the walls in a neutral color and let them accessorize with their own decorations.
