Desperate Housewife Marries

One of our favourite weddings of 2007 was of course the wedding of American Actress Eva Longoria, better known for her role as Gabrielle Solis in Desperate Housewives and Isabella Brana in The Young and The Restless. She married French NBA star Tony Parker. The couple were married on the 7th of July 2007 in Paris, France. They exchanged vows in the Church of Saint Germain L’Auxerrois, 250 guests were present. The guests included some fellow Desperate Housewives stars and some other celebrities. They included; Nicollette Sheridan, Teri Hatcher Jessica Alba and Felicity Huffman.

They exchanged their vows in a very traditional Catholic ceremony, the reverend was Reverend Dominic Shubert and the ceremony was very personal for Longoria as it honoured her Mexican Heritage; they exchanged coins, showing that Parker will always be there to support her and a rosary that gets placed around the couple to show their union.

After the wedding all the guests were taken to the castle in Vaux Le Vicomte for the reception. The whole event was planned by Wedding Planner Mindy Weiss. She also gave the castle a full-blown makeover. She decorated the castle with +- 10,000 roses and over 1500 candles.

Longoria is known to be a romantic and chose the first dance to be to the song: Book Of Love by Peter Gabriel. After the first dance, a 70’s band played all the classics at their wedding reception.

To finish the day in style, fireworks were lit up at midnight and the couple cut the wedding cake. Being young and restless the party couldn’t end at midnight and moved outside, in an outdoor tent and a DJ was present and an orchestra, everybody partied till 3AM. Food was served all night long. To showcase the other half of Longoria’s heritage, the food consisted of hamburgers and fries.

Unfortunately Eva Longoria and Tony Parked got divorced in 2011. We are sad to hear this and hope they will both find love elsewhere.
