Gestational Diabetic Diet Plan

It has been found that pregnant women are more prone to gestational diabetes, which is a type of diabetes caused by insulin resistance. The disease can be controlled with proper diabetic diet pregnancy plan.

During the 5th and 6th month of pregnancy, many hormones are generated that block the insulin functions. Over the months, more hormones are produced creating more blockage in the functions of insulin.

When insulin fails to control these hormones, blood glucose level increases resulting in gestational diabetes. The disease may create problems such as pregnancy complications, birth defect or miscarriage.

Pregnant women thus need to have a diabetic diet pregnancy plan, which is designed as per the patient's requirements and after thorough consultation with the doctor.
