It is a well known fact that acne, like all other skin problems, will vary from person to person – it’s always a case to case basis. This is true especially when it comes to the cause and their commensurate treatment.

Of course, the first set of treatment is almost basic. You have to make a habit of practicing hygiene habits that will keep your face free from pimples as much as possible. Always wash your face and keep it clean whenever you can. The point behind this is that most acne is caused by dirt. Of course dirt itself is not enough to cause acne because it has to be trapped by the excess oil that your face produces. However, it’s not as easy to control the oil that your face produces, so what you can do is control the dirt that enters the pores of your skin.

You can also keep this practice together with a couple of regular topical products like astringents that is effective in removing the dirt from the pores of your skin and keeps it healthy.

As for pimples and other forms of acne that are already there, you can resort to various forms of topical products such as lotions, creams and ointments that can treat acne. You can also get these from your local stores.

But when the breakouts start to seem frequent and unnatural, then the method taken must be place in the hands of a medical expert. Consult a doctor so that he can prescribe a strong ointment or the proper oral antibiotics. In some cases the acne may have to be removed using injections – this usually involves the really big ones.

And then they have what is called as “alternative” methods. These methods explore supplements that are meant to contain special natural ingredients that are safe and effective against acne. Of course, the number of brands marketing themselves as natural anti-acne supplements can cause doubt to its effectiveness.

Either way, what we do know is that acne is a bad thing and we have to get rid of it and even prevent it when we can, and exploring the various methods of treatment is a good way to start.
