Discovering The Potential Of Twitter As A Marketing Tool - Is It Possible To Profit And Make Money?
The headlines and media spotlight has been focused on Twitter a lot in the recent months, followers enjoy tweets from Stephen Fry amongst other celebrities and Iran is also a big topic. Twitter had to reschedule their maintenance just so The Western Government could continue their use in Iran during the protests.
Twitter's official response was:
'...our network partners at NTT America recognize the role Twitter is currently playing as an important communication tool in Iran. Tonight's planned maintenance has been rescheduled to tomorrow between 2-3p PST (1:30a in Iran).'
It's amazing how many new members are joining Twitter each day, between 10,000 - 20,000 and with close to 5 million users you could definitely see the potential in this. It's a phenomenon and eagle-eyed marking observers aren't far from finding ways to make big money, Twitter is still in it's infancy and is a great marketing tool.
StarBucks have caught on and using Twitter to send out promotions and special offers using SMS texts with voucher codes. Other large corporate organisations are also using Twitter tools and applications (apps) to monitor and communicate with their Twitter followers, it won't be long before all brands will be doing the same and who could blame them? No doubt the large brands will be pumping in money to get themselves a large following, advertising is big business and there's no way they will not make use of this as one of their marketing tools.
Twitter is free and if you can get a large number of followers then you too could exploit this vastly un-tapped market, but act now before everyone jumps on the bandwagon. Potentially you could make a lot of money but it's down to you and what ideas you come up with - sign up and give it a try.
