Divorce Doesn't Have The Same Stigma
We see it every day splashed across the pages of newspapers and magazines -- celebrity marriages disintegrating amid clouds of controversy. Some people think that stars and their marriages are a revolving door when a better one comes in the old one goes out. The days of unions having a sense of commitment have long gone and so has the likelihood of some one living happily ever after. There was a time when marriage vows were considered sacred but not any longer. Once the couple is hit by hard times their nuptials begin to fall apart. The couples consider themselves incompatible and the differences can't be resolved and soon the are destined to be ex marriage partners. As a result of divorce children end up divided an assets are fought over. Its a depressing reality. Children hurt the most when parents separate. If the child is young it may act out for attention. A handful might even place blame on themselves thinking that their parents splitting up was their own fault. Once someone is of the age to understand the concept, divorce is indeed difficult to contend with in most cases. In a closely knit family, the kids will suffer a lot; if any change is to happen. At times they may feel as if they have been required to pick a parent that they love more. On the other hand, there's a different scenario that is rarely discussed. Divorce can be a relief to those who have suffered spousal abuse. They can get empowered to live again. Although this is not always the case, but most abusers do not leave quietly. Some divorcees will live their lives in fear of an estranged spouse. However, there are cases where it is the best answer to a thorny problem. In order to keep up the marriages, tough laws have to be made for those getting married. It would perhaps help to have more counseling or impose bigger legal fees. One idea that has been tossed around is the process of registration. It would require couples who intend to marry to register as a couple. In order to receive a marriage license the couple must remain registered for a year, this gives the couple longer to get used to the idea of marriage. When there is trouble in a marriage sometime divorce is being used as an easy way out. This world needs to realize that relationships are meant to last. It is important for couples to work out their problems and talk like adults before deciding to take a legal vow of marriage. It is important for us to teach our children to respect each other, that the best way to deal with a problem is by working them out and not running away from them. It's the way to assist in getting marriages to succeed.
