Do It Yourself Liquid Bed Liners -- The Kit

The Herculiner Bed Liner Kit has all the necessary items for lining a truck bed. Do it yourself liquid bed liners are a good idea, but your kit may only have instructions for lining a new truck bed. If you have an older truck bed that needs a liner, there are some other things that you will need.

Rust converter.
Sandpaper.
Spray cans of primer (optional).
Masking tape.
Newspaper.
Respirator.

If there is rust in your truck bed, it is a good idea to sand these areas especially well. Rust converter kills rust, and some brands even turn into primer! It's a good idea to use primer even if you do use this type of rust converter.

Before priming and installing your liner, it is a good idea to mask around the edges of the bedrails on your truck. When you do this, you also need to tape some newspaper on the sides of your truck to keep the primer and liner from getting on the paint. Once you have your truck prepped, all you have to do is put the liner on and let it dry… and you're done!

Now you have a good, textured bed liner. If you ever rub the liner off in places, all you have to do is lightly sand and repaint the area.

The roll on bed liner is not for everyone. But there are reasons why it has become a popular liner in America. It's protective, permanent, easily repaired, good looking, and a rewarding DIY project.

If you decide that it's what you want for your truck… whether you install it yourself or not, I think you will find that do it yourself liquid bed liners are "a good thing."
