Do Tuberous Breasts Prevent Breastfeeding Success?
Tuberous Breasts Explained In most cases, the size or shape of a womans breast has very little to do with her ability to breastfeed. However, in this case, the problems with tuberous breasts are that some have an underdeveloped amount of milk glands. Mothers with tubular breasts may find that they simply don't have as many milk producing cells as other mothers and therefore experience some breast milk supply issues. What Do You Do if this Applies to You? If you happen to have tuberous breasts and are worried amount breast milk supply, there are some things you can do to improve your chances of successfully breastfeeding your children. Make sure to contact a lactation consultant for assistance before giving birth. Limit medication in the birthing process (if possible.) Put your baby to your breasts soon as possible after you give birth. Nurse often and on demand (not on a schedule!) Start to pump within a few days after giving birth to stimulate your milk production. Try co-sleeping with your baby. Try herbal remedies with fenugreek and blessed thistle ask your doctor to prescribe domperidone to increase your milk production. Mothers with tuberous breasts can still experience breastfeeding success, it may just take a little more effort!
