You want to buy noodle strips in a health food store. There you will find noodle strips that contain whole grains and that are not processes excessively. Using these types of noodles is safe for eating by diabetics. Whenever you eat low fat lasagna, you want to also eat a green salad. Without a salad you will absorb more fat. Fiber in the vegetables will absorb and retain some of the fat in your lasagna, so, eat plenty of salad with your lasagna.

You want to use only low fat hamburger meat. If you have decided to make this lasagna vegetarian, then this will indeed be low fat lasagna. Make sure to avoid pork or any type of sausage meat.

Instead of meat, use spinach as one of the layers. Use fresh spinach and cook it with a little bit of water and low heat so as not to lose much of the nutrients. Cook until soft and then use it as a layer. Using spinach will make this lasagna true low fat lasagna.

For a vegetarian lasagna, you can put into between the noodle layers cooked spinach or other spinach type lettuces. To find what spinach type leaves you like you can make part of the lasagna with different leafy vegetables. When you cook these vegetables, cook for a few minutes and with a small amount of water.

Salt – For the food that you salt, you should use sea salt. Sea salt contains minerals that regular salt does not and is a natural product. Do use too much salt, since this will cause you to gain weight. Salt in your body attracts water and your body will retain more water than necessary. This is another secret of making low fat lasagna.

For all of your cooking, use only sea salt. This is the healthiest salt to use, since it is filled with various minerals. Regular salt does not contain minerals and in your body it attracts water, causing you to gain weight. Low fat lasagna will benefit from using sea salt.

Olive Oil – For low fat lasagna, use fresh cold pressed olive oil in a dark bottle. Olive oil oxidizes easily and becomes rancid. Any oxidized oil can turn into fat in your body.

Cheeses – here is the heart of the low fat lasagna. Here’s where you want to choose low fat cheeses. Never use cheeses that are cut into slices. These are processed and have additives. Use only block cheese that is natural and low fat, such as Low fat mozzarella, Low fat parmesan, Cottage cheese, and Low fat ricotta cheese Use these cheeses in between noodle and sauce layers and end up with the top layer being cheese.
