"No, your butt looks fine" is one of the great lies of modern (and probably even ancient) civilization.
He is lying and you know he is lying. What's more you know your fat butt is big and is therefore big in anything, so why are you asking? Are you perhaps just testing the depth of his devotion?
Now if you are overweight, you can disguise your fat butt with good dress sense and so you should. Being overweight does not mean you have a mandate to emphasise all your wobbly bits with stretchy stretch fabrics or voluminous folds of floaty fabric.
Dress for your size and body shape and wear colours and styles that suit you. Ignore fashion - it will be gone sooner or later.
Cast your mind back if you would to those utterly charmless low slung jeans of recent times that showcased your g-string and builder's smile. Remember them? Well, they are gone and not before time, we all cheer.
OK, yes they'll be back later, but hopefully never on our enlightened botties. No matter how slim you get, just please try to believe me on this one, waving your bum crack to the world at large is never a good look.
Take the time and effort and cash you need to look good and you will feel good, then you will start taking more pride in your appearance and turn your attention to excellent dietary habits and some regular exercise. Before you know it, your journey to lose fat and get fit will be on the way. Time and effort and money well spent.
You know, you can train your nearest and dearest to answer your significant fat butt question with direct honesty. That's actually one of the things blokes are good at and get in trouble for all the time, because we girly types are too paranoid to take constructive criticism.
Ask only if you really want to know. Be prepared for an answer you don't like.
But then, have the determination and persistence to do something about it. Wear clothes that suit you and concurrently work actively on dropping your weight to a size where you can pick and choose a better range of outfits that make you feel good.
There is nothing quite like being in a store dressing room and picking the style that suits you from a number of items that are your size, rather than reluctantly taking home the one outfit that just about stretches to fit you.
Get onto a decent weight control diet and get walking briskly for 6 days a week and before you know it, you'll have left your big bum far behind.
