Doggy Parlor
I have two fox terrier dogs, and even though they have short straight hair, they love going to the doggy parlor. When I call them to the car, they vie with one another to see who gets in first. The bitch stays cleaner than the boy. He rolls in the dust and gets under the cars and get oil on his lovely clean pelt very quickly. But then, boys are supposed to be a little more boisterous, not so? The little madam will run around a mud puddle now, where before she went to the doggy parlor, she would have just run straight through it. And then jump up against you with her muddy paws! She does this behind your back, because she knows she is not supposed to do that. The minute she does, she’ll turn around and run, only to stop in her tracks and look over her shoulder at you, as if saying, catch me if you can! Little minx. The people working at the doggy parlor already know my dogs by name, just as they do several other regular visitors. They make a big fuss about the dogs, ensuring the dogs of treats and good things to come. They are really good at what they do, because I’m sure the dogs can sense it if they are not honest in their dealings with them. Dogs are wonderful creatures. They are not only watchdogs, but they are also companions and entertainment. Some of the creatures being taken by their owners are real little entertainers. They are such rewarding pets. After they are nice and clean and fresh smelling, they act as though they know it. They will jump up on you, quite unusual for them, because they know they may not do that. But once they’re clean and fresh, the take little liberties like that. The shampoo they use for the dogs are a special shampoo, because dogs and humans are not the same. They are sensitive to perfumes and if you ever think of spraying your dog with something to make it smell better, rather consider doing so on its collar, rather than on the exposed skin. You do however get fragrances at the pet shops especially developed for dogs, large breeds, feminine dogs and small breeds. If you really feel the urge to spray something on the dogs, consider making a trip to the pet shop and getting some to try. I’m sure the dogs feel just like me after I’ve been to the beauty salon. I feel revived and rejuvenated and very much pampered. Yup, a little tender care and attention will do it every time.
