Don't Spread Rumors In The Hunting World

Like most hunters and sportsmen I like to frequently visit hunting websites especially the forums so I can check out the cool stories and photos to feed my hunting addiction. Recently and this is usually the case every hunting season, pictures get posted with stories and the rumors start flying like candy at Halloween. Some good and some bad, it's safe to say that most of the rumors are negative in one way or another.

Whenever I read stuff like this on the internet it actually makes me feel bad. We as hunters must stand up for each other and stick together rather than bash and belittle one another.

Whether the rumors are true or not, it doesn't really matter. Any negative news that gets posted on the internet regarding another hunter or sportsmen hurts all of us sportsmen. We have enough to worry about regarding our rights as sportsmen, we don't need to fuel the anti-hunting organizations already huge fire. It just gives them more ammo and we need to be taking their ammo away instead of giving it to them.

Do you remember what our mom's used to say to us when we were kids? "If you don't have anything nice to say than don't say anything at all." That's some sound advice and something we should all follow and heed.

Am I guilty? I sure am, however I try my best to not to spread rumors and be positive especially when it comes to other fellow hunters and sportsmen.

We as hunters and sportsmen need to ban together, support each other and become one. No one is perfect and there are sportsmen out there who make mistakes or choose to be unethical or even break the law. However lets not point it out for everyone to see. It does much more harm than it does good.

Be safe this hunting season and we wish you the best of success.
