Doubletake Studios Scam - Not Me - My Friend Was Right

Doubletake rang me one day and told me I had been recommended by a friend to go down and enjoy a pampering day, so I spoke to the friend in question who confirmed, that was all I needed to hear because I know that is it does sound to good to be true it could be some sort of a scam, so I called them back and booked a date; as simple as that. I decided to bring another of my friends along as it was her birthday; I thought it would be a nice treat for her. So now we were of to Doubletake studios

The way we were treated on arrival was amazing, we were offered drinks and snacks, they sat us down and explained exactly what was going to happen, the reception lady was really nice. We were sent through to get our makeup and that done, it was good, she made everything quite clear and she knew what she was doing. I ticked boxes for my make up on the sheet, but then she asked me what I wanted so I just said do what you want, I trust you. So she did her own thing and that was fine, it looked good, she did my hair curly, I never wear it like that, it’s usually bone straight, I had curly years ago for my prom and it looked really nice so I thought why not try it again.

When it came to the part of the massage I didn’t realize it was even happening, I had the facemask on and stuff on my eyes so I was surprised when she took my hand, and started to massage it, it was good though; she did that before she applied the makeup. The photography section was my favorite, I liked being able to just pose like a little poser, I don’t really get the chance for someone to pay full attention to me, so it was quite nice to be the centre of attention and have the focus on me for a change. The lady was very good; I was a bit worried about being stood there gormlessly but I wasn’t, she asked me if I knew what I wanted to do, I said not really, so she started to give me directions. To keep your concentration I think the timing of that section was just right, I think if she carried on taking pictures I would have been like ‘ I’m a bit bored now love’, she was lovely, made me feel comfortable, had a general good chit chat with me and all sorts. We spoke about what I’d been up to and how far I’d travelled that day, then before I knew it, a few conversations later and I was totally comfortable.

After all of that we went to have a look at our pictures, they were all really lovely. I liked the pictures but I didn’t really have any money, luckily Doubletake gave us a voucher for £70 so I used that to get an image on the CD. I’ll probably just put the picture on facebook to be honest, I won’t bother putting it in a picture album or anything like that, and I don’t really have pictures up of myself. I’ve got pictures up of my mum and some of my sister but not really any of me, I don’t really like that sort of thing but it is nice to know I’ve got one if I need one.

The experience was the greatest value for money I’d ever seen, it was better than free, it cost me £1 to book then I got given a £70 voucher that could have be used on the high street or on pictures, I chose pictures because they were all really nice and I didn’t want to walk away from the experience with nothing. I would definitely go back again.
