Dressing For A Summer Wedding
Summer weddings are one of the most popular wedding seasons and many guests worry about what to wear, since summer attire is far different from dresses used in traditional formal weddings. Usually the couple specifies the type of gown or attire you should wear to their wedding. This is to make sure that what you wear will suit the motif of the wedding. Upon receiving the invitation, take into consideration what attire the couple has specified for the guests to wear. Rarely, the couple requires formal attire during summer weddings. If the couple did not specify the type of attire to use, get a cue from the time the wedding will start and the location of the wedding ceremony and reception. If the wedding will start at 10 in the morning at the church, then your attire will be very different from what you would wear to an evening wedding. A beach wedding may be more casual than a church wedding. Distinguish what is right and what is not depending on the location and time of the wedding. If you really don’t know what to wear, you can ask the bridesmaids or the one accepting RSVPs or if you’re a close friend of the bride or groom ask them. Do not wear a white colored dress during summer weddings, as this color is usually reserved for the bride. Select a more colorful summer look, such as pastels, florals or a darker colored dress to blend with the wedding color themes. If the wedding is celebrated outdoors, it is not advisable to wear high heeled shoes. High heeled shoes are not appropriate for outdoors and can be difficult when negotiating back yards and beaches. It is better to wear flats, but just make sure it will go along with your dress. A day time casual wedding does not literally mean wearing casual attire. Casual attire in weddings is the same as not wearing formal attire. You will not need to wear long gowns, fancy jewelries and heavy make up. You can select from a variety of Sunday dresses that you have. Choose a fabric that is appropriate and comfortable for day time events. If the wedding ceremony will be held in the church or any other sacred temple, then avoid wearing dresses that are short. If you are wearing sleeveless don’t forget to have a shawl to wrap your shoulders. You can also wear heels during day time weddings or flats, whatever you think is compatible with your chosen dress. Do not exaggerate your hair and make up, keep it light and simple. There are several summer dresses for weddings to choose from as long as you know what to wear and you know how to carry it.
