Drought Conditions Require Central Basin’s Program “shut Your Tap!”
The state of California is in a state of emergency because of the current drought. The governor, Arnold Schwarzenegger, has called for every one to start doing their part in conserving water. Every one is getting involved, from small families to large corporations. Every one needs to do their part in conserving water. Water conservation is being promoted through different avenues and programs such as the Shut your Tap program. Shut your Tap is a great program. The program teaches the residents of California ways to use less water. It encourages people to take shorter showers and to use a broom to clean off your side walk and drive way instead of the hose. These are just a few ways that the shut off your tap campaign is teaching people to use less water. This campaign is also providing resources and information to help the residents of California to properly prepare for the event of a water shortage emergency. This is crucial because the reservoirs in the state of California are at an all time low, and a shortage emergency could occur at any given moment. Even if you do not live in California your area could still be facing a drought or water shortage. Many places are. Your community may already have a program like this one in place but if they do not, then you should take advantage of this one to learn more about how you can use less water.
