Your article summary might be the most critical portion of the article right after the title. Why would that be? Because the title along with the summary are what people see when scanning search engine results. So that you can get folks to read your article, you need to grab their interest with a superior summary. Here are three suggestions to snag a reader's interest:

1) Ask a pertinent question that incorporates your search keyword phrases. Identify exactly what your readers are searching for. What is the problem they are trying to solve, the question they are trying to answer. Maybe your readers wish to save a marriage, stop a spouse from snoring or earn income through article marketing. Whatever it is, ask a question to interact with the readers and begin them thinking. Once you ask a question in the first sentence of your summary, potential readers will continue to second sentence to find the answer.

2) Answer the question. In one succinct sentence, inform your readers specifically how to solve their dilemma. You won't enter into any details here, needless to say, but you want to let the readers that you know the answer to their question, the solution to their problem. The readers have to know that a more detailed answer lies within your article and all they have to do is continue reading to get it.

3) Tell readers what to do next and exactly why. Begin the third sentence of the summary with an action verb for your readers, try something like "Learn how," "Find out about" or "Discover the truth about." These are not only action verbs, but they suggest that your readers will learn something useful when they read your article. Then tell the readers specifically what they will understand. "Five ways to," "The secret of," "How the experts," something along those lines. Bear in mind, you want the readers to know there's valuable info in your article and all they have to do is read it.

When you understand to write an effective summary that provides readers a real reason to read your article, you ought to see your article views increase rapidly. Keep in mind, whatever your topic, you can find plenty of articles just like it online. You must give readers a genuine reason to pick yours over all the others.
