Easter Activities For School

If you need Easter activities for school, then you may want to try making Easter wreaths. Decorative wreaths are popular at Christmas but can also be used at other times of the year. The children can make these wreaths and then use them as decorations over Easter time.

Making Easter wreaths is one of the popular Easter activities for school that lets children get creative as they make this bright and colorful decoration that can be used on a door to greet visitors or can be hung in a window.

Many Easter activities for school may need special materials but you don’t need a lot of special materials to make this Easter craft and you will probably already have most of these things at school. To create these wreaths you will need paper plates, colored construction card, gold or silver paint or spray paint, craft glue, markers or crayons and ribbon. Other optional materials for decorating the wreaths are glitter and Easter stickers.

To make an Easter wreath, start by cutting a circle out the center of a paper plate to leave a large ring to be the base of the wreath. Next paint the wreath base in gold or silver paint or spray paint it with the gold or silver spray paint.

The wreath will be decorated with colorful egg cutouts that are cut from the colored construction paper. Egg cutouts of different sizes can be used.

The egg cutouts are decorated with crayons, markers, glitter, ribbon and stickers.
These eggs are glued onto the Easter wreath when the wreath base is dry. They can be glued on to create a pattern of colors and sizes or they can be glued on randomly, overlapping each other. When the wreath has been decorated, put a hole in the top of the wreath and tie a ribbon through the hole to hang the wreath.

The wreath is now ready to be displayed.

An interesting variation on this is the Easter nest wreath. For this wreath, instead of painting the wreath base silver or gold, the wreath is covered with straw. This is done by painting glue over the base and then covering with with straw. The decorated egg cutouts are then glued onto the straw so that the wreath looks like a nest of eggs.

These wreaths can be made by children of all ages. There are many other Easter activities for school including making Easter baskets, writing Easter poems, making Easter cards and decorating hardboiled eggs.
