The headlines are all around us. Inflation is driving up the cost of gas and food. Unemployment is on the rise. Housing prices are in free fall. All of a sudden people don't feel as well off as they did a few years ago. When you see crisis all around, it's natural to look for protection. Think of it as economic body armor.
For the wide awake, crisis equals opportunity. For many people this means looking for a way to make money at home. We've all read about the merits of creating multiple streams of income. There are no shortage of "experts" that will sell you a "system" that will "change your life.
There is good news and bad news to this story. Let's start with the bad news. No matter what the sales letters and testimonials say, there is no magic bullet. There is no magic switch that you throw on your computer that puts money in your bank account. A home based business requires some capital investment, commitment, and a lot of hard work. This is particularly true if you're new to internet marketing.
However, the opportunities to make money at home are endless! Just a simple Google search for the term "home business" will yield over 30 million results. There are opportunities to make money as an affiliate for another product or service. There are opportunities to make money in the multi-level marketing business. You can publish your own ebook, or sell someone else's. You can simply leverage what you already know and develop a unique product for a niche market. What makes you unique can make you uniquely successful.
Before you decide what path you want to take, you need to understand why you are on that path in the first place. What drives you? What benefit in life do you want to unlock? For me, it was the desire to feel free. For me that meant I wanted to be in a position where nothing could ever be taken from me. For you the goal will be different. However it will have to be something that you are passionate about. It will have to be something that stokes the fire in your belly and makes you do whatever you need to win.
You can build your economic body armor. The opportunities are there. The technology is in the palm of your hand. All you need to supply is the passion and the action.
Remember, there is no free lunch. At the end of the day: knowledge + ACTION = wealth
