They can study whenever and wherever they want. If you miss the social interaction of a traditional college, consider a online degree that requires it’s students to visit the campus a few times a year. That way you can still interact with your classmates and professors. Many graduate programs online will require some campus visits in order to complete lab or thesis work. In this case it’s probably best to find a college that’s within driving range so that you don’t have to pay for a plane ticket and lodging for the night. Many people find the idea of independent study to be quite daunting. It doesn’t need to be. With active discussion boards, email and chat you can be in constant contact with classmates and teachers. It might be difficult at first getting the hang of communicating online, but you may find that it has its distinct advantages compared to a traditional classroom where many students don’t interact in the first place.
