David Cunningham (English Democrat)

MPs are completely out of touch with their constituents. They earn £68,000 a year, fiddle thousands in expenses and still complain that they are underpaid.

Many of Hounslow's constituents are earning less than minimum wage. One woman works 13 hours a day and is only £14 a month better off than she would be on the dole.

It disgusts me that bankers earn millions a year even when they are losing billions. These obscene, greedy people are not only stealing from our economy but also damning our children to an impoverished future. The middle class are seeing their living standards being eroded too! The only answer is to nationalize the banks must be so they can never hold us to ransom again! Otherwise we will eventually become a third World country consisting of a very rich elite and a great mass of poor.

If I elected I will only claim HALF the MPs salary, the rest I will return to the tax payers! I will only claim office expenses. There will be no junkets!

Andrew Dakers (Liberal Democrat)

I am standing for the Brentford & Isleworth Constituency for the second time having served as a local councillor over 4 years, leading the Liberal Democrat Council Group. Over a period of some eight years I have developed and often secured cross-party support for local changes such as tackling climate change and regenerating our town centres.

I am proud to be a Liberal Democrat. The rise in our support following the first TV election debate shows what happens when our policies become better known. The Lib Dems were the only party to warn about the policies that lead to the financial crises. We have clear and costed policies on all the major issues of our time from education, to health and the economy.

Is not only Government policies that need to change but also the way we do politics. We need an end to the 'arms length' approach in which the public is kept in the dark by people who decide on their behalf.

An MP should be an independent-minded person with a track record of working in an inclusive way with people with a wide range of views. My track record as a councillor is evidence for both.
If elected I would continue to work for the people of Brentford, Chiswick, Hounslow and Isleworth, putting the constituency not party politics first. I would welcome the chance to help reform our political system, so that decisions properly reflect the views of the electorate.

Jason Hargreaves (UKIP)

Frustrated at the constant lies, half truths, illegal wars, manipulations and frauds of the politicians of the three old failing parties and after being chastised by my wife who told me to either do something about it or stop whining, I decided to enter the political fray. I chose UKIP.

UKIP is the only moderate, libertarian, non racist and truly democratic British party that is willing to offer the British people a choice on our continued membership of the EU. Whilst we seek an amicable divorce from the EU and want to maintain free trade, co-operation on defence and other international issues with our European friends we firmly believe that being in a political union with 27 other, completely unequal and culturally disparate nations is not in the best interest of the United Kingdom. Membership of the EU is making Britain poorer, less influential in the world and less democratic.

No one in Britain under the age of 56 has ever been given an opportunity to vote or have a say on membership of the EU despite the promises of the Government and the other parties that we’d be given a voice via a referendum and despite the fact that more than 75% of our laws now come directly from Brussels. We joined a common market and ended up with an undemocratic and unaccountable super state with one size fits all policies that simply don’t fit.

The Tories tell you that no more powers will be surrendered to the EU. Easy to promise as there aren’t many left to surrender. Labour will have you believe that we can’t survive on our own, when actually we wouldn’t only survive we’d prosper outside the EU The Liberals will take us into the Euro, will abolish the pound and finally hand over full control of the British economy and legal system to Europe.

All the parties are now talking tough on immigration but none of them can do anything at all about immigration from EU countries. The Labour Government’s boast of British jobs for British workers is embarrassingly hollow when we realise that the majority of jobs have gone to foreign workers and yet we have the highest rate of unemployment in the UK for well over a decade, this makes no sense at all. The EU is having a negative impact on our schools, hospitals, social housing and benefits system so if any of these are local issues for you then you know which way to vote.

I could have talked about a variety of other local issues, but these seemingly national issues are the real ones which affect the Country, London and the constituency and the ones that have the biggest impact on our lives. I’ve lived in this constituency for years, my family are here, I’ve raised my own family here and I love my community. Do rest assured that although I’m not, and never have been a professional politician as a former Territorial Army Officer and veteran of Iraq I do know a thing or two about straight talking, leadership and getting things done so if you want an MP that will really get amongst it for his constituency then I’d be delighted if you’d give me the chance to prove it to you.

Please make a real difference this time. Vote UKIP and let’s get out of the inward looking and stifling EU and get back into the world!

John Hunt (Green)

The Green Party is concerned not just about the environment, but also about our economic and social crises. For sustainable policies we must use our planet's limited resources wisely, and allocate them fairly. So we argue for the same carbon quota for all, free insulation, better pensions, and an end to postcode lotteries: good for both planet and people, to improve life for EVERYONE, not just for some.

Jobs: We will create jobs, training unemployed people to move towards a sustainable, zero-carbon economy. We will also shorten working hours: currently the longest in Europe.

Housing: We will fund local authorities to expand social housing, mainly through conversion and renovation, creating 80,000 jobs, and replacing repossession with the right to rent.

Health: Greens will reverse privatisation of the NHS, abolish prescription charges, and reintroduce free eye tests and dental treatment. Appalled by standards of care in the NHS, I recently retrained as a nurse.

Education: We will provide free school meals for all and abolish SATS tests, catering for different learning styles, needs and interests of pupils.

Immigration: We must aim to balance the need to limit population growth with our obligations to refugees, including people increasingly displaced by environmental change.

Mary MacLeod (Conservative)
After 13 years of a Labour government, this country needs change and we need a new style of politics. I can be that change.

I was born in London, live locally and have been in business for over 20 years, helping multinationals improve their business. I have developed party policy with the shadow cabinet, have been an active campaigner and have worked with several charities.

I want to use my business experience and energy to be an MP who can deliver results locally. I will work hard to improve the lives of those I hope to represent, listening to you and putting you first.

I promise to:
• say no to a third runway at Heathrow
• get Britain working by opposing Labour’s job tax
• tackle crime by reducing paperwork and getting more police on the streets
• work for a better NHS by focusing on patient care with increased annual funding
• control immigration through an annual limit
• rebuild trust in politicians by being open about expenses and holding regular surgeries around the constituency

Every vote counts in this election – your vote here can change the government. Vote for change.
