Eliminating Pet Stains And Odors Inside Your Home

Stains caused by pets are really tricky. The reason? If you don’t clean the stain immediately (and clean it really well), the following could occur: 1) It will cause a really nasty odor. 2) Your pets will think that it is okay to relieve themselves at that spot again.

Thus, a good cleaning solution to these stains will do you a lot of good - especially if you own more than one of those pets running around your home.

Say goodbye to pet urine stains and odors. If the area is still wet, take a couple of paper towels and/or a rag and lay it over the said area. After treading on the area a couple times and the paper towels or rag is no longer getting of the stains, you can move on to mixing some mild laundry detergent with warm water. You can then use this solution to blot out the stain until the stain (if there is still any left) is no longer being absorbed by the solution. You can also use solutions made out of mixing ammonia or white vinegar with water to remove any residue left (if there is any). You can then dry the area with paper towels or any equivalent.

When dealing with pet feces, begin by removing any excess. Use a mixture of ammonia and warm water and place it over the stain. Let it soak for a couple of minutes. Do a couple of dabs and repeat the process until the stain is completely removed. Rinse the area with cold water before blotting it dry. To remove the odor, you can sprinkle baking soda over the spot and let it stay there for around 12 hours before vacuuming it away.

To get rid of stains caused by pet vomit, you will have to, of course, scrape any of the residue away first. Afterwards, sprinkle salt over the stain and cover the entire mess with a towel and leave it for an hour or two. By then, the salt should’ve already absorbed most of the vomit and you can already vacuum the residue away. In case there’s still a stain remaining, you can use hydrogen peroxide to get rid of it. You can also use a liquid cleaner to rid the area of any lingering odors.

Of course, the best and easiest way to avoid all of this is to simply have your pet trained properly.
