Emerald Jewelry - Going Green With Glistening Gems

Emerald jewelry won't exactly save the planet, but it sure is a gorgeous to look at. From celebs and A-listers to the catwalks of couture designers, emerald and faux emerald jewelry is everywhere this season. This beautiful stone is eye-catching, lustrous, and just downright fabulous. It looks phenomenal against white and black, and grabs attention when paired with metallic fabrics and accents. Here, we take a look at some of the most notable appearances of emerald jewelry making the rounds on the style circuit so far this year:

Angelina Jolie – Angie shines with or without jewelry, but the 65 carat cocktail ring and matching emerald earrings that she donned at this year's Academy Awards was truly one for the books. With a simple hairstyle and black strapless gown, she let the jewelry be the focal point of her look.

Jada Pinkett Smith – She was showstoppingly gorgeous at a recent movie premiere, in a white asymmetrical gown, accented by a 24 carat emerald cocktail ring and diamond and emerald drop earrings.

Victoria Beckham – Always the fashionista, Posh Spice rocked a tremendous emerald and diamond cocktail ring with a long sleeve black dress at a recent appearance. She made it a point to draw attention to her fabulous ring.

Amy Adams – Vibrant and romantic, Amy rocked a huge 45 carat emerald ring, with matching doubled-drop emerald and diamond earrings to go with her black lace gown. And, just like Angelina and Jada, she opted for a half-up, half-down hairstyle to show off her beautiful baubles.

Sophia Bush – The young starlet glammed it up with vintage jewelry including a statement cocktail ring, gold and emerald choker and earrings.

If you love this look, but can't fathom busting your piggybank to pay for the glam factor, consider costume jewelry as an alternative. It's stylish, affordable and offers just as much punch as the real thing.
