Enjoy Family Holiday Activities In Greenville, South Carolina
Roper Mountain Holiday Lights is a dazzling light display that draws more than 80,000 visitors each year from Thanksgiving through December 30. Drive your own vehicle or take a carriage ride through the Tunnel of Lights, Candy Cane Park, and holiday displays of almost a million lights at the Roper Mountain Science Center. Park the car to visit Winter Wonderland with its lighted walking trails. Visit with Santa, purchase refreshments, do some holiday shopping, or roast marshmallows by the fire. Roper Mountain Holiday Lights has been an Upstate holiday tradition for twenty years, and it raises money for a variety of children’s charities and educational programs in the Upstate. Roper Mountain Science Center is located at 402 Roper Mountain Road. The light show is open nightly from 6-10pm, and ticket prices $10 per car or SUV. The whole family can enjoy outdoor ice skating at UBS Ice on Main in downtown Greenville. This open air rink is the only one in the Upstate region. Skating is available during the holiday season through January 8. Hours are 11am-9pm daily beginning on December 19. Admission prices are $10 for adults and $8 for children and include skate rental. Your ticket allows you to leave and then return again for free the same day. Hot chocolate and seasonal treats are available for purchase. The rink is located adjacent to City Hall on the Village Green on S. Main Street. Parking is available in nearby downtown parking garages. The Greenville Road Warriors hockey team has several home games scheduled during the holidays. The team is affiliated with the New York Rangers and plays other teams in the East Coast Hockey League. Home games are scheduled on December 22, 23, 27, and 29. The Road Warriors play at BI-LO Center, located at 650 N. Academy Street. Ticket prices range from $10-$35.
