With the first one built in Germany in the late 1800’s, the motorcycle has only continued to build in popularity. Its popularity rose over 50% between 2000 and 2005 alone.

It is not only a mode of transportation, but motorbiking as created, built, and maintained its own culture. People’s love for motorbiking stems from the many benefits that come with riding a motorcycle. Motorcycles are not only, on average, less expensive than cars, but they are also amazing fuel economy vehicles.

The average miles per gallon can be anywhere between 30 MPG to over 450 MPG, depending on the specific bike and highway or local road conditions. Motorcycles come with many important structural additions that help improve the quality of the bike.

Fairing helps to protect the motorcycle, as well as provide better aerodynamics to fight wind resistance. There is a clear windscreen attached to the front of the bike to protect the driver from having random objects or the weather from hitting them or obstructing their view.

Saddlebags are placed on either side of the rear wheel and are used to carry tools. Luggage racks can also be attached to the rear of the bike and used to carry baggage.

There are many motorcycle clubs and organizations that have developed within the motorcycle culture. There are motorcycle rallies and events thrown all over the world that not only bring those with a common love and passion together, but these events are also used to raise money for charities and organizations.

Motorcycles are loved for their mobility. They can weave in and out of traffic, and in some countries, travelers who are motorbiking don’t have to pay tolls. Money is saved on the initial cost of the bike, maintenance, and fuel cost.

There is an increased safety risk associated with motorbiking. Special motorcycle helmets must be worn while riding. If one is in a motorcycle accident, there is nothing to protect their body or head from impact, so risk of injury is very high. It is also more difficult to handle and ride a motorcycle than it is to handle a car. A special course and license are required to legally drive a motorcycle.

Motorbiking can take place on road or off-road. There are different kind of bikes for the different activities and some dual-purpose bikes as well. On road motorcycles are used for everyday travel, while off-road motorcycles are used for sport.
