Epic Star Wars Fan Films
If the above scenario sounds like creative ideas dreamt up by fans, that's because they are. The weird thing is is that these Star Wars fan films actually are in existence in the world and online for the true fan enjoy. There are many films that are creations within 'fan film' arena - a breed of independent digital film-making. Star Wars fan films feature the particular scenes, characters, and the popular properties created along the same lines of the original story which most folks probably never get to view on the big screen or TV. Most independent film makers such as the Star Wars fan film maker go through even harder of work conditions to make their super creative fan film and because of the computer graphics involved - the work load is most likely more cumbersome than a typical independent short film maker and film. With technology enabling the Stars Wars fan film maker to achieve near Hollywood results, it hasn't yet produced the key element of good film-making. Considering the wide breadth of digital film making in its entirety as well as the broadband internet technology capabilities that are on the market today, the Star Wars fan film has already advanced some of the more extreme possibilities of the fan film industry in addition to future logistical technologies. Just imagine the future possibilities with the advancement of technology and how far we've already come, ultimately making these films more realistic and complex is not something distant from our realm. In regards to the legal matter surrounding fan films in general, the films themselves seem to fall into a gray area in between fan fiction and parody. These two elements of independent films are legally protected under US law which means that within the fan film scene, de facto rules inhibit most of the fan film makers from selling their work.
