First tip is to learn to utilize the Fill Handle or that little black box that you notice that the bottom right of the current selection. There are many features that you can experiment with by just dragging it with your mouse. When you drag the box with the right button, you will notice features like fill formats, geometric tendency, copy cells and many others.

Use the page break preview to help you design the way you want your pages to be printed. A page break preview will give you the bigger view of your data arrangements, tables or charts to check for any mistakes of to make simple changes. All you need to do is drag, erase, combine or insert page breaks where it is needed.

Use the Auto Fill to handle your data base that is contained in charts or tables. It is a very simple yet powerful tool to make changes in the data that you have inserted.

In Excel, there is a distinct difference between “clear” and “delete” button. The first button will remove the contents, formatting or any other thing that appears on the cell while the second button will remove the cell, row, or column from the entire sheet.

Use the Excel clipboard viewer to handle frequently used data. The clipboard is an extension of the Windows clipboard. While Windows clipboard holds the last item copied, the office clipboard can carry up to 24 different entries. These entries can simply be pasted into the worksheet as needed.

Protect data from undesired changes by using lock/unlock cell feature. By default, all cells in the spreadsheet are locked which makes it easy to protect data in a single worksheet. Another method to protect your data is by applying the Protect Sheet option. This step will ensure that your data will not be vulnerable to any changes.
